We are very excited to announce the launch of Studio SoHy’s new online store. It will open tonight at 7 p.m. EST and will be tied to the actual show in our physical space. Gone are the days of the highbrow gallery space in which you have to know someone to actually buy art, or walk around for a half hour trying to find someone who can give you more information. It’s going to be all there, on your phone. And, you can choose to pick it up later or have it shipped to you.

For Studio SoHy’s next show, May The Art Be With You: A Tribute To A Galaxy Far, Far Away, artist Franc Rosario has taken things to a whole new level. He created woodcuts of the storm trooper blaster rifle (yup, he’s a fan), printed them on handmade paper, stuffed them and then displayed them in a carved shadow box. Then there are his 13x19 screen printed Star Wars inspired playing cards. Beautiful. The real surprise though? The hand carved Jedi Order Symbol. Come out Saturday night and see it to believe it!

What strikes a chord with the viewer in Jorge Pérez Higuera’s series, The Other Side, is the hauntingly, beautiful simplicity of each piece. Whether it is the lone Stormtrooper sitting with a birthday cake or the crowded movie theater, Higuera’s work is riveting.
